G2 crush MIBR to qualify for the Spring Final

G2 qualified for the Spring Final in dominant fashion, limiting MIBR to 11 rounds across two maps.

G2 made quick work of MIBR to secure their spot in the BLAST Premier Spring Finals, taking home the series 2-0 with a 16-5 victory on Ancient and a 16-6 win on Inferno.

MIBR couldn't build on some of the promising performances they had put in during BLAST Spring so far, and G2's star trio of Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač, Nemanja "⁠huNter-⁠" Kovač and Ilya "⁠m0NESY⁠" Osipov had far too much for the Brazilians to handle.

m0NESY produced a spectacular highlight on Inferno

The one bright spot for MIBR was the success they found in securing opening kills, even if they rarely ever converted said advantages. They will hope to bounce back and qualify for the BLAST Spring Final via the Spring Showdown in April.

The series opened on MIBR's pick of Ancient, and they were made to seriously regret their map choice. The Brazilians never really got going individually or as a team on the offense and were repeatedly ripped apart by aggressive pushes made by the CTs, managing a solitary round as G2 secured a 14-1 half.

MIBR did pick up a few rounds off the back of their CT pistol to pad the score somewhat, but they were quickly dispatched 5-16 in a map that was never really competitive.

Moving on to Inferno the story was much the same, this time with G2 starting on the T side. The gulf in class was immediate from the off with G2 quickly running up six rounds before MIBR could find a reply, the Brazilians being repeatedly punished by G2 players aggressively poking holes in their defence.

Even when MIBR did threaten to string rounds together a spectacular 1v4 from m0NESY stopped any potential comeback in its tracks, the half eventually ending 13-2 in G2's favour.

Again MIBR won the second half pistol to get themselves up to six before G2 closed things out 16-6 to secure their spot in the Spring Finals. MIBR simply couldn't handle the raw skill G2 displayed throughout the series, their abysmal 5v4 conversion rate indicative of that fact.
